Google Maps 4.1 for Android: Set a map as your live wallpaper

Google has launched an updated version of Google Maps for Android. It packs a handful of new features including:

Google Maps 4.1 comes with a new home screen widgets that let you see your contacts’ locations view Google Latitude
If you’re using Android 2.1, you can set a map as a live wallpaper, allowing you to see live traffic or other information on your home screen
Updated search results page with all the information on a single page, no tabs needed
When viewing a location page you can swipe left or right to see the address, reviews, and other information about additional locations
Ability to switch Google Accounts within Google Maps

The new version of Google Maps for Android is available for Android 1.6 and up. The application is available as a free download from the Android Market.
