Kobo eBook app for iPad adds Reading Life social networking
Kobo has introduced a new version of its eBook app for iOS, which adds automatic updates for the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. If you have an iPad, you can also use the new Reading Life feature which lets you:
- Share info about the books you’re reading as well as passages over Facebook.
- See your reading stats (speed, how much of your library you’ve read, etc.).
- Unlock “awards” as you read.
In addition to posting passages to your wall, you can set short text passages as your Facebook status.
The Reading Stats menu is actually pretty slick looking, if a bit pointless. But really, isn’t that true for most infographics?
You can check out a few more screenshots as well as a demo video after the break.
Kobo 4.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is available as a free download from the App Store.
