As old Palm user and owner of various PDA’s and mobile devices going back 15 years I lament the absence of a “Productivity” category in your list (where would I find calendar or task apps?)! One of the problems with mass acceptance of electronic gadgets is a dumbing down and the rise of flash and cool. This is what sells. Heaven forbid it should be productive too.  On my Clie TH55 I had more functional apps for each of the calendar, notes and tasks (DateBk6 &TMP, Bonsai & PSMemo) and far more flexible security and lockout options (TealLock). None of the apps were as good looking though (except TMP which still outshines any iOS or Android calendar app). Is everything getting cleverer without getting smarter? C’mon, lets encourage use of our gadgets for a bit of personal productivity and benefit rather swooning over the latest jailbreak or another way to kill a cartoon character in technicolour. Rant over, thanks.
