OK, this is kind of insane. Rather than create an iPhone app that puts a virtual foosball table in your iPhone, the developers at Qneo have come up with a way to use the iPhone as a real-world foosball controller. Kind of. You know, without the foosball table.

Here’s how it works. You download the $0.99 Football – Real Kick app from the App Store and fire it up on your phone. Basically, it emits just enough sound through the speaker to blow a very, very light weight ball around. So if you have a tiny styrofoam ball and an iPhone-wielding friend willing to indulge you, you can draw a foosball/football/soccer board on a piece of paper, and take turns honking your iPhone speaker at the ball until it crosses the border.

Of course, you could do the same thing by blowing on the ball, or flicking it with your finger. But this is cooler because it’s geeky and something you probably wouldn’t have ever though of doing with your iPhone.

The developers recommend using a very small ball, and taking your iPhone out of any protective case or cover you may normally keep it in.
