Google Maps for BlackBerry gets search by voice, Google Buzz, more

April 8, 2010 By Brad Linder

Google has rolled out an updated version of Google Maps for Blackberry. Google Maps 4.0 for BlackBerry offers a number of features that were already available for Android and iPhone users, including:

  • Search by voice: Press the green “call button” and tell the app where you’d like to go
  • Google Buzz integration: Post updates, see what others in your area are up to
  • Search history and stars: When you’re signed into your account, your history and starred locations are saved, helping Google Maps for BlackBerry provide personalized search results and suggestions
  • Labs: Try out experimental features

Google Maps 4.0 for BlackBerry also lets you report problems with map data or business listings, and find nearby businesses based on an address or other point on a map.

You can grab the update by visiting m.google.com/maps in your BlackBerry web browser.
