People like to use their iPhones to do things. That’s why there are remote control apps for the iPhone that let you control your TV or PC, and even apps that let you unlock cars. And that’s the only reason I can think of for a new app Asus is expected to shwo off at the Computex trade show in Taiwan next week.

Basically, the Asus app will let you connect your phone to an Asus motherboard via Bluetooth — and trigger an overclocking utility that will speed up or slow down your computer.

Of course, most Asus computers ship with a software utility that lets you overclock or underclock the CPU with a few button presses on your PC keyboard. So it would actually take a lot longer to pull out your iPhone, fire up the overclocking app and then do the same thing. But if your one of those people who just likes to use your iPhone to do things, then this one might be for you.
