The developers of MeeGo Linux have already issued an early build for use on netbooks and notebooks. But that’s just the start. There’s also a tablet version of MeeGo in the works, as well as a smartphone version. Neither is available for download yet, but that will change on June 30th with Nokia is expected to offer a pre-alpha version of MeeGo for smartphones.

The final version of MeeGo for smartphones isn’t expected until October, but the pre-Alpha will give us an idea of what the softare will look like. It’s not entirely clear at the moment whether you’ll actually be able to install MeeGo on existing hardware such as the Nokia N900 on June 30th, or if you’ll have to use a device emulator or other developer tools.
