Lexcycle has released a new version of the Stanza eBook app. Stanza 3.0 is the first to officially support the Apple iPad as well as the iPhone and iPod touch.

Basically that means it scales to the higher resolution display on the iPad, but it also adds a few new features for devices running iPhone OS 3.2 or higher, which for now only includes the iPad. Those features include the ability to transfer books to and from your desktop using iTunes, and the ability to open books directly from web pages and email attachments.

Stanza 3.0 also adds support for PDF and DjVu formats as well as CBR and CBZ Comic Book Archive files.

You can read my review of an earlier version of Stanza for more details. Stanza 3.0 is available as a free download from the App Store.
