At first glance, Voice Recorder is just a simple app for recording voice memos on a Google Android phone. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Sure, you can just tap the Record button to make a voice memo and store it on your phone. But you can also share memos over Bluetooth or email, create ringtones out of messages, or search for previously recorded messages.

One rather interesting feature is the option to create a timed recording. You can set the duration of the recording and the start time, and then set out your recorder to record a lecture, business meeting, or what have you. But you’ll need to make sure there are no other apps running if you use the alarm/scheduled recording feature.

There’s also a Home Screen widget that you can use to start a recording with a single click — although any recording you make with the widget will be saved with the rather uncreative title of “Recording by Widget” unless you manually change the name.

Voice Recorder is available as a free download from the Android Market. You can find a few more screenshots after the break.
