So you just brought home a new Android device… or restored your phone to its factory default conditions. But you’re reluctant to enter your Google credentials to activate the phone. What do you do? You could create a second account — or you could just skip the activations creen.
Android Central has a handy tip on how to skip the activation screen. Basically, just tape all four corners of the screen, going clockwise from the top left.
You may have to repeat the procedure if you reboot your device.
Honestly, this is the sort of trick that’s probably more useful to tech bloggers and other folks that are constantly reviewing new phones and tablets than it is for users — because you probably want to enter your Google Account information to get the most out of your Android device. But it’s always nice to know that you don’t have to.
