SoftMaker Office 2010 for Windows Mobile

SoftMaker Office is one of the most feature-complete mobile office suits available for smartphones and PDAs. It’s also one of the most expensive, at about $79.95 for the full version of the company’s Windows Mobile software.

For that money, though, you don’t just the ability to view or make quick edits to office documents. SoftMaker Office is a complete office suite, with support for text, spreadsheet, and presentation documents. It’s compatible with Microsoft office and handles formatting quite well, complete with support for charts, graphs, pictures in documents, and many other features you would expect. SoftMaker also offers desktop versions of its office software.

For now, SoftMaker Office is Windows, Windows Mobile, Windows CE, and Linux. But soon the company plans to offer a Google Android version. There aren’t a lot of details available, so we don’t know the final pricing or when the software will be available. We do know that the company is first developing an app for Android tablets and netbooks before focusing on a smartphone version. That might seem like an odd choice at first, since there are far more Android phones than other devices at the moment, but I suspect it might have something to do with screen sizes.
