Google has pushed out a new version of Google Maps for Android with a couple of nifty new features. The first is the filter search results by showing only businesses that are currently open. This can help you avoid that awkward experience of driving to a new lunch place only to find it’s only open for dinner. You can also filter by neighborhoods or view related searches.

Google Maps 4.6 also has a new reviews section, allowing you to read reviews from “around the web” or just from other Google users.

There’s also support for real-time updates from your Google Latitude contacts, so you can see where your friends are on a map — and watch them as they move. Yay creepy cyberstalking… or knowing if your friend is going to be late for that movie you’re trying to get into.

The Google Maps update is available as a free download from the Android Market.
