Popular (outside of the US) streaming music service Spotify has released an app for webOS. Spotify Mobile requires a Spotify Premium subscription… which is unfortunately only available to residents of Finland, France, Norway, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. US residents need not apply.

That said, if you do live in one of those countries, here’s what the new weBOS app offers for Palm Pre and Pixi owners:

  • Find and instantly play music from the millions of tracks in Spotify’s library
  • Store songs offline so you can listen when there’s no internet connection handy
  • Sync local files with your phone wirelessly
  • View playlists and top lists from your friends
  • Send and receive music from friends
  • Share music over Facebook, email, or IM
  • Last.fm scrobbling support

Spotify also offers mobile apps for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, and Symbian.

Of course, US residents have no lack of streaming music options. Rhapsody, Napster, MOG, Rdio, and Thumbplay are just a few of the services that offer similar features on supported mobile platforms for $5 to $10 per month — although most of those apps are unavailable for webOS at this point.
