Bing may be the default search engine for Windows Phone 7, for obvious reasons. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use other search utilities with the mobile operating system. Today Google announced that a Google Search app is available as a free download from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Just like the company’s iOS app, the Windows Phone 7 app provides quick access to Google Search with support for web, image, local, news, and other results.

The mobile app has a sort of Google Instant feel to it, since search results show up as you type. It also keeps your recent history, allowing you to repeat searches quickly.
