The folks who brought us the first officially sanctioned Commodore 64 emulator for the iPhone are ready their encore: an Amiga emulator for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
The new app is called iAmiga, and the developers at Manomio have worked out deals that will allow them to offer classic Amiga games.
TouchArcade got a chance to check out an early build and reports that the app has excellent graphics and audio and gameplay is pretty much perfect on an iPhone 4. The app still has a few rough edges — the onscreen keyboard, mouse and joystick will eventually be replaced with better versions.
It’s likely that Manomio will release the emulator in two different ways. You may be able to download it as a standalone app and purchase games in-app. You may also be able to purchase games directly from the App Store, and they’ll be bundled with a version fo the emulator so that they can run properly on your iOS device.
You can check out a demo video from touchArcade after the break.
