Autodesk has released a new drawing app for Android called SketchBook. There’s a free version called SketchBook Express and a paid version called SketchBook Mobile which runs about 99 cents from the Android Market.

I took the free app for a spin, and reminded me that I’m not a very good artist — least of all when drawing on a 3.7 inch screen with my thumb. But the app is pretty clearly awesome, offering a number of different brush styles, a nearly infinite palate of colors to choose from, undo and redo functions, and more.

The paid version adds extra brushes, more effects, the ability to save a work in progress, and the ability to export an image as a PSD, PNG, or JPEG file.

Sketchbook Mobile and Express are also available for iOS.
