It’s 20 degrees below zero (or at least feels like it), and you need to make a phone call. You whip out your iPhone, remove your gloves, swipe to unlock your phone, and before you can find the contact you want to dial your hand has frozen solid and stuck to the glass… A company called NoseDial has an unusual solution. If you haven’t already figured it out from the name, the company’s iPhone app lets you dial your contacts by tapping the screen with your schnoz.

The app sounds a bit ridiculous… and it kind of is. But the developers actually put a good deal of thought into it. For instance, you don’t have to use a fingertip to unlock your phone if you fire up NoseDial before putting it in your pocket. Then when your phone goes into standby, you can unlock it by double-tapping the screen with your nose.

You can then navigate through your contact list by tilting the phone or scrolling with your nose. Then just tap on your oversized contact to make a phone call.

NoseDial is available for download from the App Store for about $1.
