The developers of the wildly popular Angry Birds video game for Android, iOS, and webOS have announced plans for a new in-app purchase system for Android users. Rovio calls the service Bad Piggy Bank, and it will allow users who download the free version of the game to pay to remove the ads or buy other updates without losing their data.
Bad Piggy Bank won’t charge your credit card directly. Instead charges will show up on your monthly phone bill.
Rovio also plans to open up Bad Piggy Bank to other developers looking for a way to monetize their Android apps.
Bad Piggy Bank will be available first in Finland before rolling out in other areas.
