RunKeeper is a mobile app for runners that tracks how far you’ve run, how fast you’ve run, and shows you your routes on a map. That’s just some of what you get with the free, ad-supported version of this app for iOS and Android. But there’s also a Pro version which is ad-free and comes with special features including audio cues, customized interval workouts and more.

Normally the Pro version runs $9.99, but the developers are running a promotion letting you pick up the Pro version for free between now and the end of January.

The audio cues can report your distance, speed, or pace while you’re running, or let you know when it’s time to change intervals. You can also create custom interval workouts or set a target pace.

RunKeeper Pro is now available as a free download from the iTunes App Store. The Android version still appears to be showing up in the Android Market at full price, but I expect that to change soon.
