Can’t wait for Research in Motion to officially launch BlackBerry Messenger 6 for download? You don’t have to. If you have a phone running BlackBerry OS 6.0 and up and you’re willing to take the risk of installing unofficial software, you can install an early build of BBM 6.0 today.
BBM 6.0 features integration with Twitter and other coial networks, improved file sharing, and the ability to chat with your contacts while playing games.
You’ll have to uninstall earlier versions of BBM before installing the new version. You’ll also need to enter a BlackBerry Beta Zone keycode. If you don’t have one, you’re probably out of luck, and some users who do have Beta Zone keycodes are still having problems installing BlackBerry Messenger 6.0.
While it appears that the leaked software comes from RIM, it isn’t officially supported yet, so you’re on your own if you run into any problems.
