You may have noticed that the HP Touchpad doesn’t have any physical buttons or a gesture area on the front. You might think that means that older apps which require use of the gesture pad won’t work on webOS 3.0. But it turns out that HP has figured out a way around that.

HP developer Ben Combee says apps that require the gesture pad will be able to run in a window with a gesture area and back and forward buttons.

It doesn’t sound like the most elegant solution, but at least it will provide a way to run older webOS apps on newer devices.
