Splice is one of the most versatile video editors available for the iPhone and iPad, offering the ability to trim clips, combine photos or videos, add audio tracks, and make other edits all on your mobile device. And while Apple’s iMovie app costs $4.99, Splice offers a free, ad-supported app. You can also pay $1.99 for an ad-free version.

I featured Splice in my recent list of 10 apps for editing videos on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. But at the time the app was actually unavailable for download, because the developer had pulled Splice temporarily from the App Store due to compatibility problems with iOS 4.3. Now it’s back, and it’s just as stable as ever.
