VEVO has updated its music video app for iOS to add support for iOS 4.3. VEVO 1.2.5 also brings support for AirPlay, allowing you to stream music videos from your mobile device to an Apple TV or other supported device on your home network.

Even if you don’t have the latest operating system and don’t use AirPlay, it’s worth checking out the new version of VEVO. The app adds a new buffer bar and indicator which can help you get a sense of whether a music video is loading fast enough to stream on your device. You can also now shuffle a playlist.

VEVO is sort of like a Hulu for music videos. The app doesn’t access to every music video ever created, but because the company is backed by Sony, Universal, and the Abu Dhabi Media Company, it has access to a pretty large library of videos from contemporary artists. You’ll also find some videos from independent artists, although the selection of music videos from indie musicians leaves a bit to be desired.

The Vevo app for iOS is available as a free download from the App Store.
