Facebook has rolled out a minor update to its official Android app with two key new features. You can now “Find Friends” on the device, and you can now tag friends in a status update.
Facebook 1.5.3. for Android also now lets you add your phone number to your profile, but I’m a bit less excited about that feature.
In order to tag a friend while leaving a status update, just start typing in the update box with a @ and your friend’s name.
The new Find Friends button shows up in the top right corner of the Friends section, and when you hit the button Facebook will scan your phone’s contact list for people that are already on Facebook but who aren’t in your friend list. You can then scroll through the results and click Add to your heart’s content.
You can also use the app to invite contracts that aren’t on Facebook to join.
