Research in Motion has announced the availability of Twitter 1.1 for BlackBerry. The update brings a number of new features including the ability to add locations to your status updates.

Twitter 1.1 for Blackberry also supports push notifications for @mention, new graphics, and support for additional languages including Chinese, Polish, Czech, and Thai.

When you want to add a location to a message, you’ll need to enable the feature from the options menu. A new compass icon should appear next to the photo icon, allowing you to add a location. You can also view locations shared by other users in your timeline on a map.

Twitter 1.1 for BlackBerry has been in beta for the past 6 weeks. It should arrive in the BlackBerry App World in the next day or so.
