Twitter has rolled out a new version of its official Android app, with a number of new features, but as you could probably guess from the headline, none of them are all that amazing. Here’s a quick summary of what you get in Twitter 2.0.2 for Android:

  • You can now delete a message from the mobile app.
  • There’s now a setting allowing you to change the font size.
  • Search results are displayed in a tabbed view.
  • You can tap a map in the details view to search for nearby tweets.
  • User profiles now show tweet counts.
  • You can launch links directly from a message.
  • Network requests now use SSL.
  • You can add or remove saved searches from universal search suggestions.

Twitter has also fixed some bugs, improved storage consumption, and improved avatar loading.

Twitter for Android is available as a free download from the Android Market.
