The Hype Machine website provides one of the best ways to find new music by scanning hundreds of music blogs for the songs people are talking about. You can listen to music, read reviews, and view ratings… and of course you can purchase songs from the artists you discover. Now Hype Machine is bringing the same experience to iOS with Hype Radio for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Hype Radio is available for [itunes link=”http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hype-machine-radio/id414315986?mt=8&uo=4″ title=”hype radio” text=”$2.99 in the App Store”], and turns blogs into internet radio stations, letting you listen to hundreds of different “stations” to hear the latest songs shared by bloggers. There’s also a popular section that streams the top songs from across all the blogs Hype Machine tracks, genre-based stations, and a blog directory. You can also also create your own personal mix from blogs you watch, or listen to a mix based on your friends’ tastes.

The Next Web took the app for a spin and found that it worked great over WiFi but that music playback was a bit bumpier over 3G. You can also only skip up to 5 songs at a time, but you only have to wait about 20 seconds to hit the skip button again.
