There’s a new Pinball game available from the Android Market, and it might just be one of the best looking Pinball games I’ve seen for any gaming platform. Pinball HD just happens to be designed for Android.

In order to get the most out of the app you’re going to need an Android device with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. I took the app for a spin on a Motorola XOOM tablet with Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb and I was blown away by the graphics.

The gameplay isn’t really much to write home about. You have three boards to choose from a wild west board, jungle board, and ocean-themed board. You can control the paddles by clicking on the left or right sides of the screen, and launch a ball by pulling back on the plunger. That’s about it for the basics.

But the 3D graphics are incredibly detailed, and in landscape mode the perspective changes as the ball moves. You can also use multitouch gestures to change your viewing angles manually. You can also play in portrait orientation and view the whole board at once.

But don’t take my word for it. A video is worth a thousand words here, so I shot a brief video which you can check out after the break.

Pinball HD is available from the Android Market for $2.99.
