TweetCaster is one of the most full-featured and customizable Twitter apps for Google Android. But up until recently the app was designed for smartphones and didn’t look all that great blown up to a larger Android tablet display. Now Handmark has released a public beta of TweetCaster HD for tablets.

The new app has all the same features as the original app including support for multiple Twitter accounts, simultaneous posting to Facebook and Twitter, and color-coded messages. But now the app is designed for high resolution, widescreen displays.

On the left side of the display you’ll find basic navigation for viewing your Timeline, @mentions, favorites, lists, or other information. The column on the right shows status updates,  messages, and other information. You can also apply filters so you only see status updates with photos, videos, or links.

TweetCaster HD Beta is available as a free download from the Android Market. The company offers a free, ad-supported version of its smartphone TweetCaster app and a $4.99 Pro version without ads. I suspect Handmark will adopt a similar approach with TweetCaster HD when the app is ready to drop the beta label.
