Mobile security firm Lookout already offers tools that you can use to scan your mobile phone for malware, backup and restore your device, or even find a missing phone after it disappears. Now the company is launching a new tool called Safe Browsing which helps keep you safe from web sites that could attack your phone.

Safe Browsing checks every web site you visit to prevent phishing attacks from stealing your data or other sites from pushing malware to your device. Right now Safe Browsing only works with the default Android browser, but the company isn’t ruling out future support for alternate browsers such as Firefox or Dolphin Browser HD.

Safe Browsing is one of the features included in the latest version of the Lookout Premium service which runs $30 per year or $3 per month. You can also take a free trial for a spin by downloading the latest build of Lookout Mobile Security.
