UberMedia has released a major update for the popular Twidroyd app for Android. Twidroyd 6.0 makes the “UbserBar” at the bottom of the screen customizable, allowing you to choose which buttons appear. There’s a lengthy list of options including Deals, Search, Trends, and Nearby Tweets. The only items you’re stuck with are @mentions and Direct Messages, because honestly, a Twitter client that hid those features wouldn’t be much use now, would it?
Other new features in Twidroyd 6.0 include:
- There’s an option to show the exact timestamp.
- The app now asks if you’re sure you want to discard tweets.
- Twidroyd has a new option to automatically shorten tweets over 140 characters.
- There are new font size options.
- There are send, attach, and shorten buttons on the compose screen.
You can find a complete list of changes in the release notes.
Twidroyd 6.0 is available as a free download from the Android Market.
