Digital Poke’s latest app for iOS, the Meteoric Download Manager, is a feature-packed, user-friendly utility for managing media downloads on the iPhone and iPad.

The app serves as a convenient tool for managing downloaded files on a mobile OS that still lacks a native program for file management. Meteoric downloads files from multiple sites and services, such as Megaupload, Hotfile, Gmail attachments, iDisk and Vimeo, and claims to be able to intercept almost all iOS playable media.

Other features include Dropbox integration, which allows you to upload your downloaded files to your dropbox account, as well as Firefox Sync. Meteoric is currently the only download manager that supports this feature, which allows you to download your Firefox desktop tab settings, bookmarks, and history to your device.

Surprisingly, Meteoric comes with its own native media player, which lets you play mp3 files and create playlists from within the app. It also includes a powerful in-app browser, which is used to find download links that can be pasted into a dedicated URL bar for downloading files.

Besides being a full-featured download manager, what makes this app unique is its sleek, easy-to-use UI and its extreme simplicity. We’re not sure if it redefines media downloads on iOS, but it certainly makes the whole process of downloading and managing files a lot easier.

You can download the Meteoric Download Manager for iPhone and iPod Touch from the App Store for $1.99. The iPad version, which is optimized for the tablet’s 9.7″ screen and packs some improved graphics, is available as the Meteoric Download Manager HD for the same price.
