ioS 5

As Apple inches closer to releasing iOS 5 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad users, the company has released yet-another beta to developers. If you have a developer account you can now download iOS 5 beta 6. It’s available from Apple’s developer site, or as an over-the-air update if you’re already runing a recent beta.

A quick look at the release notes indicates that beta 6 is full of bug fixes, but not many new features since the last beta release. But overall iOS 5 contains about 200 new features that aren’t present in iOS 4.3.

Those include an improved notification system, support for the iCloud online storage and sync service for apps, media, and documents, and wireless synchronization with a PC or Mac.

Apple is expected to release iOS 5 to the public this fall.
