iOS 5.0.1 beta

Just a few weeksafter releasing iOS 5 to the public, Apple is preparing to launch a minor update to its latest mobile operating system. Today the company released iOS 5.0.1 beta to developers.

The software update is primarily designed to fix bugs. One of the highest profile changes is a fix for bugs that are affecting battery life. Some iOS users have reported lower battery life since upgrading to iOS 5, and many iPhone 4S users have complained that the latest iPhone doesn’t live up to its battery life estimates.

Other changes in iOS 5.0.1 beta include support for multitasking gestures on the original iPad, improved voice recognition for Australian accents, and a bug fix for Documents in the Cloud.
