The CyanogenMod team has started releasing nightly builds of CyanogenMod 9 for a handful of phones and tablets. CM9 is based on Android 4.0 software, but includes a number of tweaks and modifications.

Alpha builds have been available for some devices for a while, but now you can get the latest updates each night if you have a supported device.

The released of the first nightlies comes less than a week after the CyanogenMod team turned to the community for help raising the money for new servers — and reached the goal within less than a day.

Right now nightly builds of CyanogenMod 9 are available for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Nexus S, and the Motorola XOOM and a few other devices. Additional phones and tablets should be added to the mix soon.

Nightly builds for CyanogenMod 7, based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread will also resume soon.

You can find the latest nightlies at the CyanogenMod download page.
