ComiXology has released an updated version of its Android app for purchasing and reading comic books. The update has a new user interface that looks a lot like the latest version of ComiXology for the iPad, and which is designed to better highlight featured content.
But ComiXology 3.0.7 also has a few other improvements under the hood.
The new app loads more quickly and also allows comics to be downloaded in the background while you’re reading or performing other actions in the foreground.
There’s also a new tab in the ComiXology store for your purchases, allowing you to download titles already linked to your account.
ComiXology 3.0.7 supports phones and tablets running Android 2.1 and up. It looks best on devices with high resolution displays, but if your phone is too small to comfortably read full-screen comics, you can double-tap the screen to switch to a panel-by-panel reading mode.
