Instagram is a mobile app that lets you shoot photos, add filters, borders and other effects, and share them with your friends. The app is wildly popular on the iPhone, and now Instagram is also available for Android.

Instagram for Android

You can download Instagram for Android for free from the Google Play Store.

Instagram supports devices running Android 2.2 and up as long as they support OpenGL ES 2. It works with front and rear cameras, features Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare sharing, and allows you to see a stream of photos from your friends when you first fire up the app.

Flickr support is also in the works.

Instagram already has about 30 million users. Now that it’s available for Android, I suspect that number will continue to grow.
