The Amazon Appstore is the only official place to get apps for the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. It’s also one of the top alternatives to the Google Play Store for Android phone and tablet users, sometimes offering better prices on games and apps than you’ll find from Google’s store.

Amazon also lets users “test drive” apps before buying them.

So far the Amazon Appstore has only been available in the US. But that will change later this year.

Amazon Appstore for Android

Amazon has announced that it will begin distributing apps internationally before the year is out… starting in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK.

The company is already taking submissions from developers for apps that will be available in those countries. Amazon’s distribution portal offers information about localizing apps and preparing the for international distribution as well tools for setting prices by region.
