Music streaming service Spotify has updated its Android app, bringing free music to Android phones and tablets. The new Spotify Radio feature works a lot like Pandora, letting you create a personalized radio station based on a song, artist, genre, or playlist.

Then you can stream music from similar artists for free, while further personalizing the station by voting up or down on the songs Spotify chooses for you.

Spotify Radio

You can still use Spotify to stream millions of songs or albums on demand. But while there’s a free, ad-supported Spotify Client for desktop computers, you’ll need to pay for a Spotify Premium account to do that on a mobile device.

The radio service, on the other hand, is absolutely free (although the app will play audio ads for you every now and again). Spotify Radio has already been available for iOS for about a month.
