The CyanogenMod team has revealed the new boot animation for CM10, the first version of the custom Android-based operating system to use Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The new animation should start showing up in nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10 soon.

CyanogenMod 10 boot animation

The new boot screen has a simple look with the CyanogenMod name in the center of a circle and glowing lights revolving around the name.

Unlike earlier boot logos, there’s no mascot in sight. CyanogenMod 7 featured an Android on a skateboard, and CM10 had Cid, the kind-of-creepy blue android with a circle on his chest and glowing eyes.

One of the advantages to unlocking your bootloader and installing a custom ROM is the ability to install custom boot animations. So if you don’t like the new simple look, you can always flash an alternate boot logo.
